Community Outreach

AutismUGA’s Community Outreach Committee is dedicated to working closely with the individuals and families impacted by autism in Athens and Northeast Georiga.  The committee volunteers through the following:

  • Barnett Shoals Elementary School’s REAL Saturdays, a program that provides educational activities for children while their parents participate in a support group
  • Putting on the annual Athens Walk for Autism, complete with a kid’s zone and a parent resource fair
  • Working with Extra Special People, a local camp for children with special needs
  • Volunteering with other UGA organizations, such as UGA Special Olympics and UGA’s Student Council for Exceptional Children
